Being a photographer has a lot of perks. My favorite of which might be that nearly every day I get to make new friends or reconnect with old. The incredible family below is a perfect picture (no pun intended) of the latter.

I went to high school with the Trlica kids, and though high school has been many years ago, seeing these folks made me feel like I was 18 again...like we hadn't missed a beat.

Spending an afternoon of the holidays with this kind, warm family felt like a gift to me. I'm pretty sure these folks don't meet a stranger. If they're anything like me...anyone who spends an hour with the Trlicas wants to be one.
